Toggle Pin Method
Coxofemoral luxation in dogs is mostly the result of damage to the femoral head ligament connecting the acetabulum with femoral head.
The new implants for the Toggle Pin technique from IWET helps restoring function of the ruptured ligament and reconstructing the anatomical position of the joint.
This procedure is an alternative to the FHO (Femoral Head Osteotomy) method and is characterised by a shorter recovery time.
The Toggle Pin method is an alternative to femoral head ostectomy. The procedure involves surgically repositioning and stabilizing the femoral head in its anatomical location using a specialized implant that replicates the function of the ligamentum teres. During the operation, a tunnel is created running subtrochanterically along the axis of the femoral neck, reaching the attachment site of the ligamentum teres on the femoral head.
